SSN is coming

I applied on Mon, Jan 22. The card is supposed to arrive within next two weeks. Tomorrow I am going to visit the local Social Security Administration office and get my number. I am about to become a real citizen, with SSN I will be able to open bank accounts and rent an apartment.

There is virtually no life without SSN here. The good news is that most of my colleagues agree that two weeks is usually enough to get a number and my case corroborates this observation.
